Reflection

Staring at my reflection in the mirror
Shaving cream on my face, it couldn't be clearer
Trying to find myself in the morning light
Wondering if I'm doing this right

I'm searching for the man I wanna be
In the fog of the bathroom, it's hard to see
But with each stroke of the razor, I'm getting closer
To the person I've been fighting to uncover

Glasses on, the world comes into focus
But the truth is, I've been feeling hopeless
Can I be the change I wish to see?
Or will I always be stuck being me?

In the reflection, I see my fears
But also strength that's persevered
I'll keep on shaving, keep on trying
Until my true self comes shining

In the mirror, I find my salvation
A work in progress, my own creation
I'll keep staring at my reflection
Until I find my true direction
